WE DON'T FORGET THE PEOPLE MOST PEOPLE FORGET.

Ghost Tiers is the technical partner behind Hope On a Budget, finding sustainable tech that makes surviving homelessness in South Florida a little less brutal.

Connective tissue between Fort Lauderdale and Miami Dade. One mission, two counties, and counting.

// OPERATOR NOTE — PERSONAL

I didn't grow up in Miami. I grew up moving across the South, different states, different towns, raised on the kind of hospitality where you help your neighbor because that's just what you do, whether you can afford to or not.

But it was my time in Miami Dade that taught me something I haven't been able to shake since. This city moves fast. I've watched people go from the most esteemed, respected names in a room to forgotten in the time it takes someone to buy this week's Lamborghini. Everyone is your friend when you're on top. I've watched how few people stick around when you're not.

I've seen that pattern repeat itself state to state, town to town. People say they care. Most don't stay long enough to prove it. Everybody's carrying something, I'm not pretending I'm not, but Southern hospitality taught me you still do what you can, when you can, for the person in front of you.

That's why I support Hope On a Budget the way I do. Her work is rooted in Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, and I'm proud to be her connective tissue into Miami Dade. Wherever she decides her community needs her next, that's the community I support too. She's already talking about taking this work to other states.

I watched her raise money to put a homeless woman into treatment, out of pocket, no insurance, no guarantee. The woman ended up walking away from it. But that almost doesn't matter to me. What matters is a woman saw someone other people had stopped seeing, and gave her a real chance to get her life back anyway. That's not a brand partnership to me. That's just the right thing to back.

// THE PARTNER

Hope On a Budget mission poster featuring founder Brii — Founder, Leader, Changemaker — with the mission to restore dignity, provide resources, and inspire hope among the homeless and underserved across South Florida.

Hope On a Budget is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded and run by Brii, serving the homeless community of Broward County and South Florida. Her approach is simple and radical at the same time. Treat people like people.

Brii is on the ground, not behind a desk. Her content is not polished PR, it is raw, real footage of actual people getting fed, clothed, and seen. She runs donation wishlists, collects clothing donations, and shows up consistently for a population most organizations overlook. She's already looking beyond South Florida, with plans to bring this work to other states.

// THE TECH LAYER NOBODY ELSE BRINGS

Most shelters and outreach groups are stretched thin just keeping the lights on. Technology strategy is the last thing on their list, and usually the thing that could help most.

What I actually do for Hope On a Budget

Sustainable Power Access

Solar powered charging is survival infrastructure, not a gadget. I’m pursuing Anker ambassador status to get solar power banks and charging kits directly into the hands of people experiencing homelessness. Phone battery is often the difference between reaching a shelter bed, a job callback, or a family member.

Right Tech, Right Person

Not every solution needs to be high tech. My job is finding the simplest tool that solves a real problem, whether that’s a twenty dollar solar charger or a better way to track donation inventory. Technology that adds friction does not belong here.

Sustainable, Not Flashy

No vendor lock in. No subscriptions a nonprofit cannot afford five years from now. Every recommendation I make has to survive without me in the room.

Are you a shelter or outreach org?

If you run a shelter, food bank, or outreach program in South Florida and have a tech problem nobody is solving, I want to hear about it. Some of this work is not billable. Some of it just needs to get done.
